Two American pilots, Jef Obredan and Jef Sapiro, have successfully conducted test flight of hang gliding in Pokhara on Sunday, 31st March 2013. The test flight was organized by Avia Club .
Obreda said, “I glided over tranquil lakes and hollow caves with breathtaking Himalayan scenery on the backdrop. I truly had my best experience of the Himalayas in Pokhara.”
“Though I had flown in different countries, this one and half hour amazing flight in Pokhara was truly wonderful and fulfilling experience,” said Sapiro- the other pilot.
The managing director of Avia Club, Natasha Shrestha, said, “Hang gliding would be an additional attraction and draw thousands of domestic and foreign adventure enthusiast in Pokhara.”
Hang gliding is an air sport in which a pilot flies a light and non-motorized foot-launch aircraft called a hang glider that is of a delta wing design. It is very popular in Europe.
